Royal Ride

What is the Royal Ride?
The Royal Ride is a free transportation service provided by ºìÌÒÊÓƵ Police, exclusively for ºìÌÒÊÓƵ students. It runs Friday and Saturday nights from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM while the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ is in session.

Note: Service is not available during breaks, between semesters, intersession, or summer.

Service Area: The Royal Ride operates within the boundaries of:

  • Vine Street to Ridge Row Street
  • Taylor Avenue to Franklin Avenue

All individuals using the Royal Ride must display their Royal Card when boarding. ºìÌÒÊÓƵ Police reserve the right to refuse service to individuals who are deemed disruptive by the driver(s). Alcohol and tobacco are not permitted on the Royal Ride Van.

In case of inclement weather, service may be delayed or canceled for safety reasons.

Medical Transportation

Medical escorts are available for members of the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ community who have temporary medical conditions requiring transportation on campus only. If you require a medical escort, please contact the office of Institutional Compliance and Title IX at 570-941-6645 or non-academic-accom@scranton.edu  to get approval for a medical escort. Once approved you will be provided transportation, on campus only,  by a ºìÌÒÊÓƵ Police Service Officer. 

Medical escorts may be delayed due to emergent calls.
